Why do people take anti-Depressant?

My Aunt takes anti-depressant and she is annoying. She is always talking, cant get a word in. Her dog is hyper, barks all the time. She is always yelling and screaming at her dogs, talks loud, Laughs incredible loud. We are all so glad to see her go. Is it because she takes anti-depressant?
