Can brands of anti-depressant alter the side-effects?

I've been on Citalopram for about a week now and have been feeling nauseous, more exhausted then usual and oddly "out of body". My GP has told me that it's a guessing game as to which one will work for me, is this what she meant, or do they each have the same sort of side-effects?
